Moon Shot came out of my own exploration in using p5.js as a physics engine. Orbital physics has always been fascinating to me, and it served as the inspiration for this game. Once the software side was functioning decently, I realized that it would be much more engaging if there was a physical controller that made the player feel more connected to the action.
What I then made was a controller that used a pinball machine plunger as a way to control power and aiming it up or down determined the launch trajectory. Overall users found it fun and usually ended up walking away with a better understanding on how orbital physics work.
